Schindler's List

The role of Itzhak Stern is crucial. Stern, an accountant, informs Schindler that German industrialists must pay less for Jewish slave labor than for Polish labor. In this way, Stern first opens the door for the possibility of Jewish rescue at Schindler's factory. In the film, Schindler sits down with Stern and proposes a toast to the factory's success. However, Stern is not interested in a toast. "Pretend for Christ's sake," Schindler pleads. "I'm trying to thank you, and acknowledge I couldn't have done it without you." Stern replies, "You're welcome." But he does not lift his glass.

How does this exchange influence Schindler? How does Stern, overall influence Schindler? What examples are there in the film of Stern nudging Schindler in the direction of rescue?

i think it exchange influence by him feeling good about himself doing something good for the jewish people stern overall in fluence him by telling schindler how people are suffering and at first schindler didnt know he was saving people but at the end he wants to help the direction by making schindler rescuing the jews is that people came up to him and said he is a rescue and a good man hearing stories of how jews are suffering and thats how he decides to rescue the jews

This exchange with Stern and Schindler helped Schindler see that what he did then wasn't good enough for Stern. Until Schindler had bought thousands of jews and when Schindler stopped caring about the amount of money he was making, and actually realizing the real situation and tried to help as much as possible.

I think that this influences Schlinder because he should know that Stern in is not all that into drinking and does now want to make a toast. Another examply of this is when Stern finally does take the drink because he knows its one of the last time that he will see Schlinder.

this influences Schindler because it shows him that even thought he is helping out the Jewish people, he is still part of the Nazi group. Stern influences Schindler by making him see outside of the factory walls, Schindler finally realizes how inhuman the Nazi actions are. When Stern brings in the one armed man Schindler realizes this is the result of war.

This exchange influences Schindler by showing him that you don't always need to be rewarded for your successes or Stern might be showing him that the work is not done and they should not be celebrating yet.

Stern overall influences Schindler in a great way because Schindler trusts him very much so he does pretty much everything Stern tells him to. Which, in the end, makes him save over 1,000 jews.

Stern is always pushing Schindler to help the Jews in any way. He tries to get Schindler to give them better food and working conditions, which he does. He asks Schindler to pay them more and give them more freedom, which he also does. Stern was always pushing Schindler towards the path to saving the Jews throughout the entire movie.

I say the exchange influences Shindler because then after he thinks that he did such a great thing when he could of done way better so in that way Shindler saves way more to get people more pleased. Stern influences Shindler by doing what he says to save all the Jews and rescue them. the things stern did to get shindler to do this is was asking him to save people he knew that were jews amd save them . even when to relax on killing people for no reason .

I think that it influenced oscar shindler because he wanted to save as much jewis as he can because he wasnt that kind of person tht just goes killing people,he kinda has felling for the jewis for what they are doing for him.in the film he tells he jewish accountant a rabi to make a list whick we call the scindler's list. the schindlers list is a list oscar made,he had to pick people that he wanted to take with and keep them alive and people that were not on that list went to death camps.

Stern influences Schindler by always taking in extra Jews that might not even be the best workers, but still Jews. He keeps nudging him towards saving mor Jews by frist bringing in the one armed man whom thanked Schindler a million-and-one times, and then by hiring other people that are just random Jews who might not even be the best workers for him.

Long story short, I think that stern wont drink with schindler is because he hasnt earned his respect yet. So i think the only way that schindler can earn stern's respect by saving some of the Jews. For example in the movie stern is putting guilt on shindler because all these Jews are dying and so schindler created that list. It is all just a thing of respect in my eyes

This exchange influences Shindler because it shows that Stern doesn't live in the world of Shindler while Shindler is celebrating his success Stern's world is being destroyed by the same men the SS and the Gestapo with whom Schindler usually raises his glass.
Stern influences Shindler because Stern shows that he is living a hard life and Shindler will start to care about Stern throughout the movie.
Examples in the movie are such as Stern hires a man with one arm missing and the factory is for working so if you work in Shindler's factory you dont die basically or go through Concentration Camps.

1)The exchange between Stern and Schindler influences Schindler because Schindler gets frustrated at the fact that Stern is not happy for his success with his company.
2)Stern influeces Schindler overall to hire Jews because the cost is cheaper than polish labor. but more important he makes Schindler realize the Jews are real people too and not just worthless workers.
3)In the film Stern hires the one armed man, even though Schindler would not approve because is would not help his busines grow. Also through out the movie Stern supports Schnindler with difficult choices of saving as many families possible on his list.

At first schindler feels a little confused as to why stern isnt having a toast with him. Stern influences schindler because with stern almost ignoring the point of schindler and his success, he is still worried about his people. At one of the scenes in the movie stern brings a man with one arm and the man with one arm thanks schindler and he hardly cares. That next day schindeler ends up finding out he was shot by a german official and he starts to care more, and more about the Jews and what was going to happen.

Well, In the begnning of the movie, Schindler has a drink with Stern to thank him for all his hard work and dedication to help make his company. Schindler raises his glass, but Stern doesn't. This tells m Stern has no respect for Schindler or he doesn't like him because he's taking advantage of his jewish workers.Stern sonner or later influneces Schindler by telling him about their lives. He tells Schindler that they might die and all the harsh conditions there living in. This makes Schindler feel guilty. Also, Stern knows that he might not survie so he raises his glass at the end when he has a drink with schindler. This shows that he know has respect for him. Towards the end, Schindler decides to use all the money he earns to buy his workers so they can be saved. Without Stern, Schindler would not have changed. Schindler saves a lot more money hiring jews rather than polish workers because jews at this time in Germany were treated as slaves were treated way back before the Emancipation Proclamation in America. Stern on the other hand just wanted it the other way to save his family, his friends, and the entire jewish people. Schindler didn't know that until during the middle of the film.

Examples of stern nudging schindler in the direction of rescue when he said that jews were cheaper than polish. He also made an excuse for the one-armed old man that he was a good worker.

Well Stern influences schindler by making him think that more can be done and more workers can come and work in the factory.....but stern is also Jewish so he highers people that he feels bad for or thinks will get killed because he does not want any of his own people to get hurt wich leads stern to hiring the one-armed man or the little kid. Wich also has a domino affect on schindler by hiring that woman's parents because at first she pleaded and she was yelled at and kicked out by schindler but then he comes to think of it just like stern would, and decides to hire the woman's parents.
